On Palm Sunday we wave palm branches with the enthusiastic crowds that welcome Jesus to Jerusalem. It is a bitter sweet moment as we know how it turns out.

Following the Industrial Revolution and emerging in the second half of the 19^th century, the Arts and Crafts movement incorporated the dedication to recapture the spirit and quality of medieval craftmanship. The 1880's saw a greater appeal of the Arts and Crafts movement to a new generation and the emergence of the notion that there was no meaningful difference between the fine and decorative arts. This led to viewing the garden as an extension of the house, using natural, hand-crafted elements, reflecting the surrounding landscape and creating a strong architectural style of garden.
