Toy Drive 2024!

Dear Friends,

On behalf of Jeff and myself, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your help in making this year's White Gift Sunday Toy Drive a great success.

Thanks to your support and our partnership with St. Philips Lutheran Church, we were able to provide gifts for the children of families in the Willowridge Toronto Community Housing Complex (Eglinton and Martingrove). Both St. Philips and Willowridge organizers have shared how impactful our contributions will be, ensuring that all children attending the Dec 18 Holiday Party will receive a special gift. At a time when many are facing challenges, this event shines a light of hope for these families.

Toy Drive Results:

• Toys Collected: 212 toys for various ages and interests.
• Gift Cards: 100 $10 Walmart gift cards, adding flexibility for the families' needs.

A special thanks to the UCW Council and UCW Unit 8 for your generous donations—both financial and physical gifts. The UCW support was key to the success of this drive. 

Jeff and I had the privilege of delivering the toys this afternoon. The response from Willowridge was overwhelming, and the tenant representatives expressed deep gratitude for the generosity, which will make a real difference for the children this holiday season. While we respected privacy and didn’t take photos, we’ve included a few images from the day, including the Willowridge storage room and their event poster.

This toy drive is a testament to the compassion and generosity within our church family and the broader community. It’s heartening to see so many come together, especially in a time of personal and economic challenges. The UCW's support reinforces the positive impact our church has on those in need and encourages our continued mission of outreach and “compassionate service” .
