Reminder from the Gifts & Giving Committee
We'd like to remind everyone that our year end is rapidly approaching and it is time to top up your annual pledge donations, give as you normally would for those that haven't pledged and lastly to send in your pledge for 2021. Please remember that donations of appreciated stocks and securities is a very tax effective way to donate if it works for your programme. If you need information on this method, please contact Ed Mock, ed@kingswaylambton.ca as soon as possible as time for this year is running short. |
Ring those Bells
In an effort to lighten and brighten everyone’s spirits this holiday season, there will be numerous people across the city who will be ringing bells at 6pm on December 24. You can stand at your front porch and ring bells, or walk your dog while ringing bells, - whatever the way, let’s band together and bring some cheer for just two minutes this year. |
New Bible StudyJanuary 4 - April 5, 2021 Do you need something to lift your spirits and give you hope during this pandemic? Welcome to a Bible study on the Gospel of Luke. It is for young and old, people who have never read the Bible and those well-versed in it, those who know Christ and those who do not. Gospel literally means good news. It is the help God gives us in Christ and through the Holy Spirit. Participants will gain a new or renewed sense of God’s activity not just in the Bible, but in daily life. The Rev. Dr. Paul Scott Wilson, recently retired from teaching preaching in the University of Toronto, will be the leader. He has written a commentary on Luke for lay people. Extracts from it are assigned for each gathering (around four single-spaced pages per week). We hope you will join us on Monday evenings from 6:45 to 7:45pm, January 4 - April 5, 2021, for a Zoom conversation. Register with Janet Riddell in the Kingsway Lambton United Church office. Email janet@kingswaylambton.ca and write 'Monday Bible Study' in the subject line. She will send you the readings and links to join the discussions. |
